Immigration & detention abuse
Immigration status does not erase dignity, safety, or due process
Immigration systems can fail through prolonged or unsafe detention, family separation, coercive interviews, inadequate interpretation, barriers to counsel, lost filings, medical neglect, discriminatory treatment, or removal proceedings a person cannot meaningfully understand. Different agencies and legal rules may govern each stage.
What failure can look like
- Forms, rights, interviews, or hearings handled without effective language access or meaningful understanding
- Counsel, family contact, medication, disability accommodation, evidence, or timely review obstructed
- Documents lost, signatures coerced, facts mistranslated, or detention conditions used to pressure waiver or removal
Protect the record
Preserve identification and immigration documents, notices, A-numbers, filing receipts, interview and hearing records, interpretation concerns, detention logs, medical requests, grievances, attorney communications, and family-separation records. Contact qualified immigration counsel or an accredited representative immediately.
